Brilliant hospitality and Donald and Sunandra made us feel really welcome. We would reiterate all the comments praise and plaudits already bestowed and say to anyone "This guesthouse goes beyond what one would expect, it is more of an exclusive homestay for specially invited friends of the family" It is however quite a way out of town, but it is easy to arrange tuc tucs and they are very reliable. Being out of town it is lovely and peaceful and the views from the guesthouse are fantastic. I would recommend this to anyone - you wouldn’t regret it

Our stay at Mountain View Holyday Home was absolutely wonderful. We were met with a warm and loving welcome and we immediately felt at home. Mr. Donald and Mrs. Sunanda did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and they sure did a GREAT job in doing so. They are very helpful to make plans and arrangements and where and what to do. The room was big and clean. Nice and clean bathroom and WiFi in room (to those who needs it). There was a beautiful view from the small balcony and we enjoyed the fresh and clean air! They are both brilliant cooks, and we enjoyed the homemade meals they prepared with much love. Actually we regret the night we ate out!!! There is nothing like a delicious home cooked meal among family and friends. We would defenetly stay here again, only just for more than a few days. The couple that own and run this guest house was friendly and wanted to make sure that all their guests were comfortable and well looked after. They make the delicious breakfast themselves. They even helped us organise a day trip out of Kandy to Nearby Dambulla and Sigiriya for a good price. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the view from our room in the hills overlooking Kandy was beautiful. Would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I have traveled to over 70 countries and stayed in a variety of accommodations. This was THE best, most personalised experienced we have had. The staff welcomed us as one of her family and did absolutely everything to make our stay superb. We booked for 2 nights, but extended. The guest house is off the beaten track, but for us this was a big plus. You can sit in the gardens overlooking the mountains and experience blissful peace! We did day trips to the elephant orphanage, tea plantation and Sigiriya. The option of dinner is VERY reasonable and includes wonderful fresh produce, freshly cooked for about $8. I literally couldn’t move the first night! Breakfast is similarly wonderful and plentiful. The standard room is absolute value for money, but if you can afford, I recommend the room with the balcony for an even better experience. You can always book one night and then extend at a better rate. At the end of our stay, we were dropped at the train station and, for the first time I hugged my host, with tears in my eyes! Honestly, a lasting impression, we will be back. I hope you get to experience this wonderful hospitality too!

We loved our stay here. The food was wonderful and service very friendly. The house is a little outside of the main area but we preferred it that way, kept things quiet. Loved the dog! Would easily recommend this place to family and friends.

We really enjoyed the stay. The host is really friendly and helps to organize trips, Tuk-Tuks and so on. Breakfast was delicious! The room was clean and nice, the garden is beautiful and it is in the mountains which is nice (and you have a nice view). All in all one of the best places we stayed! Loved it.

My sister and I spent one of our last days in Sri Lanka at MVHH, and the lovely family who welcomed us with open arms were so hospitable, we didn’t want to leave. Makes a big difference staying with SL locals who have a lot to share about life lived on the island. Don was up until late in the night with us, we discussed so many interesting topics, it was great to speak with such an open and informative man! Really loved our time there, plus all the little decorative touches around the house & breakfast in their backyard with a stunning view all added to the experience. Getting there is an adventure too!
